Questions
What counts as a change event?
One committed row change read from the write-ahead log: an insert, an update or a delete. A transaction that touches 40 rows is 40 events. Fanning one change out to three sinks is still one event.
Is the CLI free if I run it myself?
Yes. The drift CLI is Apache-2.0 and runs anywhere. Self-hosted pipelines only count against your plan if you connect them to the hosted control plane for monitoring and alerts.
What happens if I go over my Free limit?
Nothing breaks. We pause delivery to sinks and keep your replication slot position, and you get an email at 80% and 100%. Upgrade or wait for the next month and delivery resumes from where it stopped.
